Peep Antenatal Training (online)

Use the Peep Antenatal Programme in your perinatal work with parents, to support parent–child bonding and attachment, and positive outcomes for children.

Description

Aims

Practitioners will develop their understanding, confidence and skills in:

  • enhancing parents’ ability to think about and bond with their baby and tune into their feelings before and after the birth (reflective functioning), creating a strong base from which the baby can explore the world,
  • developing and supporting secure parent-infant attachment relationships, leading to better outcomes for the child in terms of their cognitive development, the relationships they build and their resilience to cope if life gets tough.

The training was developed with the University of Warwick Medical School, and includes online access to our Peep Antenatal Programme. It can be used to complement other practical antenatal information or support that you offer expectant parents. The Programme is not for expectant parents with complex problems, unless they have additional specialist support.

‘I found this really useful to learn how to deliver a perinatal programme that focuses in on key aspects and in a parent-friendly/ baby-friendly way. A great learning experience – it gave me a structured framework to use which is evidence-based but also flexible in the delivery of it.’   Tracey, Clinical Psychologist
