Explore the why, what and how of using the Peep Learning Together Programme (LTP) to support parents/carers with their children's learning and development, from birth.
This training is for practitioners who work with parents, carers and young children. This could be in a children's centre, community centre or family hub, in a nursery, early years setting or school, in a health or social care setting, library, prison, museum, stay and play or toddler group, or in the home - anywhere that involves working with families.
The Learning Together Programme and Training will value and build on your existing skills and experience, with a focus on:
- using a strengths-based approach to working with parents/ carers to support their child's early learning and development in everyday life - enhancing the home learning environment, supporting strong parent-child relationships, and contributing to a smooth transition to nursery or school when the time comes,
- exploring practical ideas, strategies and resources, using the wide-ranging Peep Learning Together Programme - you'll have online access to the whole Programme plus post-course delivery support tips and guidance.
- enabling you to deliver universal or targeted Peep sessions with parents/ carers and children in a flexible way to meet the needs of the families you work with, in one-to-one, group or stay and play sessions, indoors, outdoors or online,
- starting the process of completing a practitioner accreditation unit – this is optional, but it’s a great opportunity to contribute to your own continuing professional development (CPD) and the quality of your Peep delivery.
Feedback:

I thoroughly enjoyed the course and I was not really expecting to as it was online.' Catherine, Family support worker, County Fermanagh
'Great for building confidence in the person delivering Peep sessions, as well as families. Great for parents to pick up tips and hints to help understand children's learning and development.' Lynda, Nursery nurse, South Ayrshire
'Brilliant programme and parents really enjoy doing the sessions.' Lisa, Children's Centre Senior Practitioner, Cambridgeshire
